Recently, the 11th Sukhoi Superjet 100 aircraft bearing tail number PA-89028 was received by Aeroflot. The SSJ100 is a 100 seat regional jet built by Sukhoi in partnership with Alenia Aermacchi. It can cruise at a Maximum Operating Speed (MOS) of Mach 0.81 and 40,000 feet.
The plane is named after Boris Bugaev – a renowned pilot and the Air Chief Marshal of the USSR. The plane was delivered to the airline under the financial leasing agreement between Sberbank Leasing and Aeroflot.
The delivery of this particular aircraft marks the start of the second batch of 10 planes to be developed and delivered to Aeroflot. The expectation is that Aeroflot will receive five more aircraft of this type by the end of 2014.
Sukhoi is pleased to have strategic cooperation with Aeroflot, which is a core enterprise of the Russian economy and aviation industry.
Aeroflot operates SSJ100 aircraft throughout the central part of Russia, Western and Eastern Europe and the near-abroad. The SSJ100 has completed more than 24,000 flight hours in 36,000 commercial flights after being part of the inventory managed by Aeroflot.
The Aeroflot Sukhoi Super Jet 100 configuration includes 87 passenger seats in total with breakup of 12 business class and 75 economy class.
