Air Force One is the official air traffic control call sign of a United States Air Force aircraft carrying the President of the United States.
The Boeing 747 aircraft remains at the disposal of the Presdient of America. The plane spent a portion of the weekend at Eglin Air Force Base. The purpose of stay was to undergo rectification testing as per Eglin Air Force Base spokeswoman Lois Walsh.
The plane is one of two under the use of the Presidential Airlift Group, at Andrews Air Force Base, Maryland.
There were no passengers on board. In the recent past, the plane completed a year-long “heavy maintenance cycle” and is currently being tested for return to presidential service. The thorough testing included: multiple takeoffs, approaches and landings under a variety of conditions.
