The U.S. Navy Blue Angels flew in from Florida to Kansas city on Monday. They continued circling around the downtown as part of their preparations for the 2015 Kansas City Air Show.
The Air Show is scheduled to happen on August 22 – 23. The Blue Angels came into town to check on hangar space, logistics and other facilities for their six jets that will perform.
“Kansas City is a place we’ve been before and love being here. When the Air Show reached out to us and said they wanted us back, we definitely worked hard to make this happen,” said Captain Corrie Mays of the U.S. Navy Blue Angels.
Apart from naval aviators wearing the blue suits, there are over 100 sailors and marines who are part of the team without them they Blue Angels cannot perform.
The Blue Angels had to cancel their Kansas City Air Show in 2013 because of federal budget cuts.
