The KJ-2000 aircraft made an appearance in Zhuhai Air Show 2014. It is an airborne early warning and control (AEW&C) aircraft, which was seen parked next to the Y-20.
Based on a Russian transport plane, the Ilyushin Il-76, the KJ-2000 is China’s premier surveillance aircraft. Mainring remains its NATO name.
This aircraft made its first flight in 2003. Approximately, 5 units have been built so far for the PLAAF.
