Russia is all set to sell Mi-35 helicopters (developed by Mil Moscow Helicopter Plant) to Pakistan. These helicopters are to be sold under the banner of War on Terror and the inventory will further strengthen Pakistan’s ability to counter terrorism.
In in his recent statement, Russia’s Ambassador Alexey Dedov said that the deal between Pakistan and Russia would help combat terrorism. Politically, the deal has been approved while contractual negotiations are underway. He further said that two-sided trade volume of the two countries could not coincide with the actual potential and both countries should exploit the opportunity. Bilateral relations between both the countries are going through an improvement phase. The recent visit of Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu was an evidence of that. The defense cooperating between these two countries is likely to increase.
Sources said Russia will also provide jet engines for the JF-17 and other military equipment to Pakistan.
