A Russian dual-seat MiG-29KUB fighter jet crashed during a routine test flight outside Moscow today. The crash site has been pointed out as a residential area near a village school. Both pilots ejected to save their lives. However, were taken to to hospital due to injuries.
The plane was returning to the Flight Testing Institute’s airbase in Ramenskoye when this incident happened.
Emergencies Services chief Radik Asulbaev, flying in a helicopter to the crash site, transported one of the seriously injured pilots to the Sklifosovsky hospital in Moscow, officials told RIA Novosti. The other pilot who was in less critical situation was later transported to a local hospital.
The cause of the incident is not known as yet. Black box was found near the crash site, which is likely to pave the way to find the root cause of the accident in which two naval aviators got injured.
