Turkey to Gift 34 T-37 Trainer Aircraft to Pakistan

An agreement was signed between Pakistan and Turkey today under which Turkey will provide the PAF with 34 T-37 trainer-cum-fighter aircraft and its spare parts “on a gratis basis”.

This development is conclusion of the 11th Meeting of the Pakistan-Turkey High Level Military Dialogue Group (HLMDG) in Ankara, Dawn reported.

The agreement was signed by Pakistan’s Director General (Defence Procurement), Major General Naveed Ahmed, and from the Turkish side by the Chief of Logistics, Major General Serdar Gulbas.

On Pakistan’s desire of acquiring the aircraft, Turkey decided to provide the T-37, a jet trainer and light attack aircraft, without charging a single penny, said the defence ministry statement.
